Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire a
Nursing Instructor
position. This is a full-time faculty, exempt, and benefits-eligible position. POSITION DETAILS
- This is a 100%, 175-day faculty assignment.
- Requires a flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings, nights and/or weekends. Many clinical shifts are 12 hours.
- Faculty will be required to meet minimum Oregon Health Authority standards prior to being in the clinical setting, including a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Faculty must maintain required licensure/certification.
INSTRUCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The College/Health Sciences Department and the Nursing Program are committed to student success and progression; faculty work as a team toward that end.
Provide innovative instruction in a variety of classroom, clinical and clinical laboratory settings:- Clinical experiences are predominantly centered in med/surg and community settings
- Develop and deliver of student-centered experiences aligned with course and program outcomes that promote learning
- Plan and implement teaching strategies to assist students in meeting course/curriculum outcomes.
- Evaluate student learning and performance, and provide timely, constructive feedback Create a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports diverse students academically, culturally and economically
CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM PARTICIPATION
- The Nursing Program is approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) and Clackamas Community College (CCC) is accredited by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Participation in the implementation and evaluation of CCC and Nursing Program policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development, adherence to and evaluation of program standards required for OSBN approval.
- Participate in curriculum and course development, evaluation and revision.
- Engage in program assessment and continuous improvement activities.
COLLABORATION & PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT
- Collaborate with college personnel and community partners.
- Participate in college, Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education (OCNE) and/or professional committees/organizations.
- Respect and honor diversity among colleagues, students, and partners
- Maintain active licensure and meet required health and safety compliance for clinical instruction

Qualifications
MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Master of Science in Nursing,
or
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
and
a Master degree in a related field, predicated on OSBN approval for exception. - Current unencumbered Oregon RN licensure or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Must be willing to obtain Washington RN license upon hire.
- Teaching experience in a nursing program leading to eligibility for RN licensure.
- Work experience related to medical/surgical, OB, pediatric or mental health nursing. Recent clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing preferred.
- Three (3) years working experience as a registered nurse.
- Each full year is equivalent to 1,664 hours.
- Ability to exemplify traits that reflect the College's culture, including integrity, a customer service orientation, cultural competency, trustworthiness, flexibility and a willingness to change.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with OCNE curriculum and/or local clinical partners associated with CCC.
- Strong commitment to nursing education and demonstrated commitment to student learning.
- Experience using a variety of teaching and assessment techniques - including the use of technology to enhance student success.
- Ability to adapt to varying pedagogical approaches to meet the needs of students with differing learning styles and abilities.
- Willingness to take a leadership role in the areas of educational and professional expertise.
- Experience in implementing techniques of critical thinking in the classroom and in clinical settings.
- Willingness to provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate.
- Willingness to integrate new patient care content and/or refresh direct patient care clinical skills when applicable.
- Ability to work effectively in an innovative team environment where change is the norm.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Terms of Employment
- This position will be eligible to work remotely up to (2) days per week in accordance with the CCC policy.
- All positions at CCC are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college and requires a flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
- CCC employees must reside within 50 miles of Oregon City, Harmony or Wilsonville campus as a condition of employment.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States must be provided if selected for hire.
- CCC does not support employment permits or visas.
