Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $60,000.00
Maximum $65,000.00

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Manager of Campus Security, the Campus Security Supervisor assumes an armed role, offering supplementary assistance in shaping the leadership and strategic direction of Campus Security Operations. Operating under broad guidance, this position plays a pivotal role in assisting the Manager of Campus Security in safeguarding the institutions facilities, assets, and personnel. In the capacity of the Campus Security Supervisor, the incumbent will serve as the primary point of contact for security operations and assume oversight of the campus security guards on the Oregon campus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of CLERY and other necessary security-related compliance procedures, requirements, and literature.
Working knowledge of public safety protocols, mandates, laws, and regulations.
Working understanding of the powers of arrest.
Strong computer skills, specifically the ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and other required software programs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; abilities must include effectively communicating with WesternU students, administration, faculty, staff, visitors, and outside contacts.
Excellent customer service skills with special capabilities in working with all internal WesternU members and external members of the community.
Must have experience in conducting formal investigations, including but not limited to, the ability to gather facts and evidence in the manner required to ensure proper documentation for civil or criminal prosecution.

Required Qualifications

Education: Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelors degree or any combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to oversee a campus security operation.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in the security field with 3 in a security supervisor role.
Certifications/Licenses and Qualifications: Must Possess a current Armed Professional and Executive Manager license issued by the State of Oregon DPSST.
Training: FEMA (Incident Command Course Modules such as 100HE, 200, 700, 800),
Background Checks: Must pass the CORI criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a higher education campus safety/security operation preferred.
Law Enforcement background or police academy training preferred.
