Position Information
Hiring Department: Human Resources

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends.
FLSA status: Exempt
Earliest Start Date: March 3rd, 2025.
Salary: $50,000.00 Annually.

The primary accountabilities are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. Specific tasks or responsibilities will be documented in the incumbents' performance objectives as outlined by the incumbents' immediate supervisor or manager. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.
Purpose of Position
Under general supervision and with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment performs moderately complex analysis and evaluation of employee benefits data. Work involves preparing, reviewing, and analyzing HR data and monitoring data sets. May train others.
Essential Functions
Utilizes and processes HRMS database for changes to employee records with accuracy; runs reports from Oracle system when needed.
Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all records and information processed through the Human Resources Department; must prioritize and manage time to provide accurate and timely completion of work with constant interruptions on a daily basis.
Provides support for HRMS, including researching and resolving HRMS problems, unexpected results, or process flaws, performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
Writes, maintains, and supports a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools; assists in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
Responsible for collecting and organizing data from multiple internal systems; research discrepancies and reports recommendations and resolutions to immediate management.
Provides administration, research, data analysis, reporting, and communication for benefit plans and special projects utilizing analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Monitors and reconciles data between HRMS/payroll systems and vendors to ensure accuracy across all platforms.
Serves as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll); may provide overall project management for a given HR initiative.
Maintains awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product and service development; delivery and support and applying key technologies. Examines trends in information systems training materials and techniques; through classes reading, CBTs, or other mechanisms, continuously increases both HR knowledge and HRMS application/tools knowledge.
Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of other integrated systems, being able to lean and use institutional software systems; proven experience with PeopleSoft is preferred.
Complies with all State and University policies.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.
and
Experience: Two (2) years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Proven success in fields or disciplines related to bookkeeping, accounting, and/or data management. Experience related to the principles and theories of Human Resources.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PeopleSoft.
