Position Information
Hiring Department: Outreach Programs
Posting End Date: Open until filled. This posting may close once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received.
Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is occasionally required on evenings and weekends.
FLSA status: Exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary: $45,680.00 Annually.

Note: This is a grand funded position though August 31st, 2025. This is a full time, temporary, contingent upon availability of funds position with possibility of extension and is eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, ad vision.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.
Purpose of Position
Essential Functions
Supervises and coordinates administrative activities and functions for the department.
Knowledge of grants compliance and reporting, evaluation processes.
Managing purchasing/budget duties for department.
Managing inventory control and quarterly inventory process for GEARUP equipment at SISD high schools.
Serves as a liaison with school district administrators and community partners for the development of GEARUP project
Responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective performance of the administrative support functions for the department by efficient utilization of time and staff.
Ensures efficient departmental flows by assessing and coordinating appropriate staffing (e.g. daily staffing, vacation calendars, etc.) and notifies appropriate management personnel of conflicts, as needed.
Manages the reception area to insure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image. Ensure visitors and other clients are greeted and assisted to determine their needs and directs them to the appropriate person or office.
Ensures all information obtained, retained, created and/or assembled for the department is properly organized, filed and easily accessible to department staff.
Ensures that the administrative functions of the department run efficiently and smoothly and promotes efficiency within the department.
Ensures physical and electronic files are up to date and clearly marked for easy access.
Ensures all data entry and reports are completed in a timely manner to meet prescribed deadlines.
Ensures departmental correspondence is properly delivered to the appropriate area/person, to facilitate on-going communications and efficient departmental operations.
Maintains records and organizes filing and archive systems to facilitate the expeditious retrieval of information so that team members may accomplish their responsibilities.
Participates, as needed, in special department projects.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and managing consultants; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from four (4) year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.
and
Experience: Three (3) years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
