Job Summary:
Are you passionate about harnessing technology to empower organizations? Are you excited about using your CRM expertise to create solutions that drive success? The CRM Analyst will play a vital role in maximizing the functionality and effectiveness of Blackbaud CRM and other integrated systems. Leveraging expertise in CRM and programming languages, this position will implement solutions that address the unique and changing needs of our division. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting custom features and enhancements within the CRM system that will drive more-informed decision making. This position will be considered for remote work pending approval of the specific work location in compliance with University's HR and Payroll requirements. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt, benefits eligible position.

This position reports to the Director, Advancement Information Services. Candidates will be hired into the Level 1 or 2 role following review of their skills and experience against the minimum qualifications for the positions.

CRM Analyst, Level 1 salary: $59,760 - $74,700
CRM Analyst, Level 2 salary: $65,680 - $82,100

Job Duties:
What You Will Do:

The CRM Analyst will customize the University Advancement CRM system using Blackbaud SDK, develop reports and dashboards, and maintain technical documentation. The role involves a full range of technical duties in application development including creating necessary stored procedures and related database objects using TSQL. This position will respond to complex data requests, gathering business process requirements to ensure data quality and integrity, adhering to University policies. Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects are required.
  • System Development: Deliver effective solutions to support end-user business processes by configuring and customizing CRM features including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting to meet strategic divisional needs and drive informed decision-making. Collaborate with stakeholders to convert functional requirements into technical requirements and supportable Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that meet the users' needs.
  • Dashboards and Reports: Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports and dynamic visualizations, providing actionable insights to stakeholders to improve overall business performance. Fulfill end-user ad-hoc requests for data sets, reporting and analysis.
  • Support: Provide ongoing support, updates, fixes, and general assistance. Manage access to features through security roles and user rights. Facilitate system upgrades to improve CRM functionality and performance by reviewing changes with end users to ensure responsible testing and signoff from stakeholders.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems and shared platforms. Develop interfaces using data management best practices to maintain sanitized database inputs and referential integrity. Create automated data integrity alerts to improve data quality, and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with data governance standards, implementing data cleansing and business process improvements as necessary.
  • ETL and Integrations: Develop and maintain data transfer processes between backend systems such as the CRM database, local data stores, and cloud-based third-party applications using APIs, ETL methods, and proprietary data integrations to maintain interoperability across platforms.

Occasional evening and weekend work will be required to support system maintenance, upgrades, and the timely resolution of technical issues. Additionally, this position (and all positions in our division) requires the occasional evening and weekend work to support university events including Homecoming & Family Weekend, Reunion Weekend, and large Career events. We do ask staff to mark their calendars in advance for these events.

CRM Analyst, Level 1 - Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related degree and two years practical experience in application administration and support, including experience utilizing SQL and related SQL management tools
  • Technical skills required:
    • Strong foundation in relational databases and SQL programming
    • Understanding of software development tools such as Microsoft Visual studio
    • Experience with SSRS, Tableau, or similar reporting tools
    • Knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, specifically formulas and charts
  • Self-motivated to work both independently and collaboratively to develop robust, efficient and well tested code.
  • Understanding of data management including acquiring, organizing, storing, and utilizing data throughout its lifecycle to ensure quality, security, availability, and usability for organizational needs.
  • Exhibit strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize deadlines and proficiently manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and analytical reasoning, with the capability to address issues in a logical and systematic manner.


CRM Analyst, Level 1 - Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the Blackbaud CRM application (advanced experience with the query tool is highly desirable).
  • Familiarity with the components of Advancement or non-profit fundraising such as fundraising, gift processing, stewardship, and research
  • Experience with:
    • ETL concepts
    • NET and C# including experience in design security and best practices
    • Front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript
    • API web services utilizing both REST- and SOAP architectures


CRM Analyst, Level 2 - Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related degree and four years practical experience in application administration and support, including experience utilizing SQL and related SQL management tools
  • Technical skills required:
    • Experience working with relational databases and proficient skills in SQL programming
    • Demonstrated proficient understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and its functionalities in software development
    • Experience with SSRS, Tableau, or similar reporting tools
    • Experience with version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
