Under the direction of the Director, Employment & Faculty Support Services the Manager, Faculty Support Services will manage the daily operation of the Faculty Support Services (FSS), providing direct supervisor of 2 FTE's. This position will work with the Provost and the Vice President of Academic and Faculty Affairs to ensure policies and procedures related to faculty matters are accurately implemented; provides support for the faculty recruitment process, including faculty appointments, reappointments and other faculty related actions. Serves in a critical coordinator and administrative support role for annual processes to include Promotion and Tenure, Part-Time/Clinical/Adjunct Reappointment, Pre-Tenure Review, Post-Tenure Review, and Summer pay process.

Coordinate recruitment and on-boarding efforts and various responsibilities include but not limited to: maintaining continuous communication with hiring departments, meetings with the departments regarding recruitment activities, posting positions, providing general recruitment guidance, and coordination of all onboarding requirements have been satisfied.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Directs the daily operation of the Faculty Support Services (FSS) unit within the section of Employment & Faculty Support Services, providing direct supervision of 2 FTE's. Serves as liaison between Human Resources, AU colleges and administrative units, the EVP for Academic Affairs & Provost and VP for Academic & Faculty Affairs to ensure all faculty action business processes are accurately define and adhered to, based on Board of Regents and University System of Georgia policies.

Manage, coordinate and assign all tasks related to faculty recruitment and pre-onboarding of all faculty positions. Ensuring the posting and closing of academic faculty recruitment requests are processed in a timely manner. Working with EVP for Academic Affairs & Provost to obtain approval on all faculty offer letters and ensuring all pre-onboarding items are satisfied.

Manages all annual process as it relates to faculty to include Promotion & Tenure, Pre-Tenure Review, Post-Tenure Review, and Part-time and Clinical/Adjunct Reappointment. Ensures all Manage Faculty Events (MFE) data entry is completed accurately and within established time frame.

Serves as a subject matter expert on various college and institutional committees and participates in various institution-wide projects such as SACS and Manage Faculty Events; provides employee relations services for faculty members and their direct supervisors, working closely with the Director of Employee Relations to ensure that all employee/faculty policies are adhered to.

Processes periodic queries to ensure the integrity of faculty data being provided to colleges/administrative units, the Board of Regents, and the University System of Georgia administrative offices. Responds to inquiries from all levels of the organization as it relates to faculty data; verifying data entry impacting reports and/or queries; reviewing faculty files to validate the integrity of the data.

Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and four years of HR experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree is a plus and additional years similar experience and/or HR Certification from SHRM.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Shift/Salary/Benefits



Pay Plan: B15

Salary Minimum: $82,800.00/year

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
