Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.
Job Summary
Responsible for compiling, tracking, documenting, assessing, auditing, analyzing and reporting of current and future physical space needs based on strategic long-term planning of the university and individual departments. The responsibilities of this position utilize quantitative and qualitative assessment tools to conduct space data collection and compilation, validation and analysis using the Archibus Space Data system and requires integration of data from multiple sources. The work of this position requires a maintaining data at a high level of accuracy and includes significant effort related to field-verifying university space on all campuses. The position maintains building data within Archibus including floorplans, building codes, physical building addresses and assignment of room numbers. Assists the Facilities Space Manager in maintaining accurate and effective inventory of all space for the university and preparing documents required for monthly Space Management, Real-Estate and Facilities Committee meetings.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reviews incoming Space Requests, meets with departments initiating Space Requests to determine needs, field-verifies space including collecting information regarding specific attributes, revise floorplan drawings based on changes/additions to physical space using AutoCAD, utilize existing floorplans to develop test fits for proposed Space Requests. Performs data analysis and interpretation to form a basis for recommendations related to resolution of Space needs and frequently updates the Archibus database. Utilizes sound quality control measures to ensure data is accurate.
- Updates floorplans using AutoCAD and transfers data to Archibus via interface. Ensures renovations are updated and coded correctly and in a timely manner. Work with Space Manager to create test fit scenarios using AutoCAD to propose space planning solutions.
- Utilizes Facilities Inventory and Classificaton Manual (FICM) guidelines to assign appropriate coding of space based on function. Assigns new building codes and room numbers, creates fire evacuation plans for buildings based on current life-safety codes.
- Assists with perpetual space surveys on all AU campuses including training and interaction with campus constituents on how to accurately complete and submit survey data. Participates in Space Management projects as directed. Ensures reports and responses are accurate and meet associated deadlines.
- Create and update campus maps. Maintain files of floorplans for all buildings and provide to project manager, architects, contractors, and engineers as needed. Maintain files of plot plans. Create highlighted drawings and poly-line drawings as needed.
- Provide information regarding square footage and measurements, or any other assistance, on request as needed for Facilities Space Manager, Planning. Design & Construction or other interested parties (i.e. Provost, Contractors, Vendors, Architects, and Engineers)
- Assists with other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Associate's degree or technical degree from an accredited college or university in a building maintenance-related field AND a minimum of 5 years of direct experience working in a Facilities Services organization and Space Management Data in a multibuilding campus-type environment with advanced user skills with Archibus and AutoCad software.
Other Required Qualifications
Valid driver's license and approval of Public Safety to drive AU vehicles.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, MIS, Engineering, Architecture or Building Science with at least 3-years experience in a Facilities Services organization.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Must have demonstrated working knowledge of AutoCad. Must be able to use all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel,
Outlook, Power Point). Must have working knowledge of Archibus database system.
Must be able to work as a cooperative team-player and communicate effectively with a representative group.
Ability to be detail-oriented and accurate with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F
Pay Band: 10
Salary Minimum: $25.24/hour - $27.58/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
