Job Summary:
The Strategic Initiatives Manager (Business Services Program Manager) is a skilled and flexible individual responsible for the operational management and oversight of the school's culture and management of the school's internal strategic initiatives, as determined by the SSPPS dean in partnership with the Assistant/Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives. This position works independently at an advanced level. The Strategic Initiatives Manager will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives that enhance the SSPPS strategic priorities, foster a culture of collaboration and wellness, and support a positive and inclusive workplace environment. Specific details on the duties for each of these areas are listed below.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic initiatives:
- Support the Assistant/Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives in oversight of the school's internal strategic initiatives, as determined by the SSPPS Dean, including the following activities:
- Developing and facilitating activities and programs regarding SSPPS'mission and support the development and delivery of training programs to build capacity to work with a diverse team of talents.
- Create and promote programs that support employee well-being, including mental health resources, work-life balance initiatives, and resilience-building strategies. Including management and coordination of events and training for faculty, staff, and students in areas aligned with strategic initiatives of the SSPPS, as determined by the SSPPS Dean.
- Assist with the collection, analysis, quantification, and benchmarking of data, trends, and other related information, including the creation of reports on internal strategic initiatives related to school culture, wellness and any other strategic initiatives managed by this position.
Culture by Design Initiative:
- In collaboration with the ADSI, facilitate school initiatives associated with the school culture programming. Responsibilities include:
- Execute strategies for cultural transformation aligned with organizational goals and continuously assess and provide feedback to leadership on culture initiatives and refinements.
- Promote and support culture-related school programs through the creation and maintenance of action plans to implement Culture by Design initiatives. Design and execute initiatives that promote a collaborative and welcoming school culture, ensuring alignment with organizational values and culture principles.
- Responsible for program budget tracking and reporting, as well as purchasing and procurement for school programs.
- Manage Culture by Design events and communications.
- Utilize an event platform to provide digital and technological support for school-wide initiatives in creating registration platforms for participants in scheduled activities.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings and events.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in administration, business, public health practices fields, or a directly related field.
- Two (2) years of demonstrated experience in project planning and coordination.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in academic program management.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in education, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Experience with strategic initiative management in an academic environment.
- Experience working at an academic medical center.
- Experience with event management software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A fundamental understanding of current issues and challenges facing higher education, including knowledge of how workplace culture impacts job productivity and satisfaction.
- Ability to function independently in a responsible and timely manner.
- Ability to influence individuals to comply with university, campus, and school regulations, policies, and rules.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with professional, administrative, and other personnel throughout the organization, both orally and in written form.
- Ability to work closely and effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to conceptualize administrative problems and to develop and implement action plans for their resolution, including strategic utilization of staff and resources.
- Knowledge of Higher Education Administration.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, policies, and regulations to exercise good judgment in applying them to academic program management.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as
$72,617 - $92,369.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
