Position Information

Hiring Department: Hunt College Dean's Office

Posting End Date: Open until filled.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

Essential Functions

Provide professional development advising and counseling services to students, helping them navigate their academic programs and professional development activities through a Student-Centered resource base to address: Critical Thinking, Time Management, Test Taking Strategies, Self-Discipline, etc.

Develop and implement programs and initiatives to improve student retention rates, such as early intervention, writing workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs, and coordinating and facilitating student support services, including tutoring, academic coaching, disability services, and mental health support.

Connect students with relevant resources both on and off-campus, such as tutoring centers, financial aid, career fairs, networking events, and health and wellness resources.

Communicate effectively with students and collaborate with faculty/academic departments, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting student success.

Enhance student success by developing new programs and initiatives, such as orientation programs, peer mentoring programs, and academic success and professional development workshops. Engage students via student organizations covering various interests and academic disciplines, leadership development program and workshops, volunteer opportunities and community service initiatives, and networking events and career development opportunities.

Utilize data collection and assessment tools to analyze student data, professional development activities, and their results. Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improving student success. Generate reports to inform and support data-driven decisions.

Assess the effectiveness of professional development services and programs using data collection from surveys and other feedback mechanisms.

Demonstrate proficiency with using technology and digital tools for student engagement, data management, communication, and program delivery, especially in the context of remote or hybrid presentation environments.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree

and

Experience: Three years of related experience and/or training to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Occasional traveling required.
