Position Information

Hiring Department: Data Center and Infrastructure Operations

Posting End Date: Open until filled.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $65,000 annually

A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.

Purpose of Position

Summary: Provides advice and guidance with existing and emerging technologies; directs and participates in complex and mission critical technical and information analysis and systems development; identifies, evaluates, supports, and solves complex issues in area of expertise; identifies strategic areas of development. Works on all areas of IoT Technology services including Campus Surveillance, Campus System Monitoring, Campus and Cloud Collaborations/Communications, Campus Voicemail, Campus IT Infrastructure.

Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:

Configure local area network (LAN) hardware for equipment setup and installation.

Monitors and Maintains Telecommunication Infrastructure Servers.

Performs upgrades to Telecommunications Infrastructure.

Oversee and assist in day-to-day service call for Telecommunication Infrastructure.

Provide Documentation for Telecommunication Infrastructure services.

Perform Backups of Infrastructure services.

Support SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive Online Services

Provides a demonstrated mastery and in-depth understanding of existing and emerging technologies.

Works with vendors and manufactures to resolve Telecommunication Infrastructure issues.

Identifies, evaluates, supports, and solves complex issues related to area of expertise.

Identifies strategic areas of development.

Manages, administers, and maintain systems with significant degree of independence and accountability.

Provides in-depth industry knowledge.

Identifies, researches, and disseminates new technologies as appropriate.

Performs complex analysis and extensive problem solving as necessary to complete specific research and development.

Plans and coordinates projects as assigned.

Provides guidance and training to colleagues and users.

May serve as project lead on any size project

Perform all duties of Enterprise IP Communications Specialist

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Minimum Education required: Bachelor's degree from four year college or university. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Minimum Experience required: Three years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong hands-on knowledge of the configuration and optimization of networking and VoIP equipment is required. Working knowledge of network QoS issues and mitigation strategies.

Preferred Experience: Four years of Networking infrastructure support

Four years of Server administration including Windows, Unix, VMWare, Hypervisor

Four years of PC support of Windows/Mac/Linux desktops and mobile devices

Three years of SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive Online services support.
