The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering, Design and Computing at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for multiple tenure-track Professor positions at all ranks. Reporting to the Chair of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, this position will be expected to develop and teach lecture and laboratory courses at all levels, establish an active, externally funded research program; conduct high quality research involving students at all levels, leading to sponsored research and refereed publications; advise students; and contribute to Department, College, and University governance and to the profession.
The Computer Science and Engineering Department (CSE) currently has sixteen full-time faculty members. The department offers a ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, and two multidisciplinary PhD degrees in Computer Science and Information Systems and Engineering and Applied Science, and several certificates. The CSE department provides quality computer science education and research opportunities to our students and quality professional service to the professional community and the general public in the Denver metropolitan area. The current strengths of the faculty are in the areas of algorithms, artificial intelligence, computer networks, graphics, parallel and distributed systems, mobile systems, machine learning, Cybersecurity and secure computing, data science and AI, and theory. Our faculty are engaged in multidisciplinary research and encourage collaborative research among disciplines. In addition to general computing labs, the department houses several specialized research labs in graphics & VR/AR, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Active Cyber Infrastructure and Defense (ACID), Machine Learning (ML), networks (DECENT), Big Data Management & Mining Laboratory (BDLab), Animation, Neuroscience & AI, and parallel and distributed systems (PDS).
The College of Engineering, Design and Computing values innovation, creativity and an interdisciplinary approach to engineering and research. We focus on providing our students with a comprehensive engineering education at the undergraduate, graduate and professional level. Faculty conduct research that spans our five disciplines of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, bioengineering, and computer science and engineering. The college collaborates with industry from around the state; our laboratories and research opportunities give students the hands-on experience they need to excel in the professional world.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field -
Demonstrated expertise and track record of research and teaching accomplishments commensurate with the candidate's rank in computer science, as evidenced by their record
Desired Qualifications:
While candidates from all levels and in all areas of computer science will be considered, the areas of cyber-physical systems, IoT, HCI, computer graphics, AR/VR, AI, or a related field at the assistant professor level will be given priority.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:

Assistant Professor $90,000 - $110,000 per 9-month academic year. Additional salary for summer months can be sourced from research funds or for additional duties. -
Associate Professor $105,000 - $130,000 per 9-month academic year. Additional salary for summer months can be sourced from research funds or for additional duties. -
Professor $120,000 - $140,000 per 9-month academic year. Additional salary for summer months can be sourced from research funds or for additional duties.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
