College/Department Information

The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.

Job Summary

Partner with the Associate Dean for Evaluation, Accreditation, and CQI to translate school goals, objectives and information requirements into robust data warehouse & business intelligence solutions that address current needs while remaining scalable, flexible, and extensible to adapt to future needs and requirements.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Design, develop, and support scalable, high performance OW/BI applications and data repositories and BI metadata.
  • Lead program of school database/application design and data modeling informed by standards/best practices.
  • Develop ETL processes and ensure team adheres to standards and best practices through code and design reviews.
  • Work closely with other team members to design and implement OW/BI/analytics solutions.
  • Document technical aspects of school data elements, data models, and data mappings.
  • Establish processes and tools to measure and maintain data quality throughout the warehouse and BI metadata.
  • Design and implement security model to support school information access policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related IT field of study.

Required Experience

Five years of experience in a relevant field of work to include high-level programming and systems analysis and design.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Enterprise-level applications and custom integration solutions implementation and design experience. Experience with business intelligence tools, data modeling, and data warehousing. Knowledge of higher education data and usage needs.

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Band: 13

Salary: $68,500.00/Annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
