Job Summary:
The Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine has a 1.0 FTE faculty positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Primary functions of the position include coordinating, triaging, and organizing patient flow as well as conducting patient visits under the supervision of attending physicians and surgeons. In addition, these positions will serve as faculty, teaching/instructing clinical techniques and procedures

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$130,000 – $190,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.

- Discussions with patients regarding information about the program, flow of appointment and tests that will be performed.
- Advisement of patient scheduling based on concern of disease.
- Ensuring all specialty providers are staffed in clinic each week.
- Reviewing medical records to determine if appropriate for clinic.
- Requesting outside diagnostic tests and pathology/cytology as needed.
- Generating weekly lists of patients to be discussed at conference.
- Ordering and interpretation of labs or diagnostic tests needed prior to multidisciplinary review.

- MSN required from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure by a national professional organization
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado
- Admission to the Advanced Practice Registry of the Colorado Board of Nursing
- Prescriptive authority required
- Current ACLS certification
PA:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
