Position Information

Hiring Department: Hunt College of Business Dean's Office

Posting End Date: Open until filled.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

Essential Functions

Recruitment and Outreach:

Develop and implement strategies to recruit students into the Banking Academy.

Build relationships with local high schools, the El Paso Community College, and other institutions to attract prospective students.

Promote the academy to current students and ensure a diverse and talented cohort.



Mentoring and Student Support:

Provide guidance and mentorship to students enrolled in the Banking Academy.

Organize workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions to support students' academic and professional growth.

Facilitate connections between students and banking professionals for career advice and mentorship.



Event Coordination:

Plan and execute networking events, including employer shadowing, visits to prospective employers, and guest lectures from banking leaders.

Coordinate visits from banking professionals to classes, providing students with industry insights and real-world perspectives.

Organize and manage internships and other experiential learning opportunities for students.



Industry Engagement:

Establish and maintain relationships with banking organizations for recruitment, internships, and other collaborative opportunities.

Work with banking leaders to create a pipeline for students to secure internships, job placements, and other career opportunities.

Serve as the primary liaison between the Banking Academy and industry partners.



Administration and Management:

Oversee all administrative aspects of the Banking Academy, including budget management, scheduling, and reporting.

Ensure that all academy activities align with the strategic goals of the Hunt College of Business.

Track student progress and outcomes, using data to continuously improve the academy's offerings.



Promotion and Marketing:

Develop marketing materials and strategies to promote the Banking Academy both within the college and to external audiences.

Collaborate with the college's marketing team to highlight the academy's successes and opportunities.

Represent the Banking Academy at college events, industry conferences, and other relevant venues.



Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field

and

Experience: Three years of related experience and/or training to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Occasional traveling required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree; Experience in the banking industry or a related field; Experience in event planning, program management, or student services is a plus.
