Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is seeking a meticulous and experienced Cash Management Supervisor to join our Finance and Business Services team. Under the direction of the Assistant Bursar, this role involves supervising and training employees, overseeing daily operations in the Bursar's Office, and enforcing internal cash controls to ensure security and accuracy. The Cash Management Supervisor will monitor financial transactions across the department and campus, ensuring timely posting and reconciliation. This position requires advising and resolving complex financial issues for students, parents, coworkers, and departments while maintaining PCI compliance of sensitive data, internal cash systems, and credit card terminals. Summary of Responsibilities


  • Supervise a team of employees nurturing a cooperative work environment. Monitor, create and implement training for cashiering staff. Manage employee issues and provide feedback (both positive and constructive) to facilitate the cashiers' knowledge and competence in accomplishing their assigned tasks. Examine operations/procedures and develop and implement new strategies. Supervise and/or assist with daily cash counts of all monies maintained by the cash office.
  • Instruct UVU departments in the Fee Card process and manage, track, and report, student completion of fee cards to departments. Coordinate, upload, and process, the Concurrent Enrollment billing statements monthly. Provide comprehensive web deposit training to UVU departments. Troubleshoot problems that arise and report issues that cannot be resolved to the applicable team. Upgrade, resolve, and report issues with POS and cashiering terminals.
  • Reconcile cashier daily totals, resolve any discrepancies, balance and record online payment reports, and prepare bank deposits daily. Inventory and order office supplies as needed. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline and two years experience, OR an Associate's degree and four years experience directly related to the position summary, OR any combination of education and experience totaling 6 years directly related to the summary of duties.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Management.
Experience using Banner software.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and UVU policies. Knowledge of cash management, internal controls, and security.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software including spreadsheets, databases, word processors, accounting software, and Windows operating systems.
