Position Summary

Reporting to the Dean of Summer Session, the Assistant Director of Pre-College and International Programs is responsible for recruitment of and programming support for visiting high school and international student populations for the Summer Session in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies.



The ideal candidate will be a highly responsible and responsive individual with experience anticipating and serving students’ needs; communicating effectively with student, parent, and faculty populations; and coordinating across university departments.



Essential FunctionsÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

  • Manages Summer Leaders Academy (SLA) and Pre-College and international student inquiries and applications

  • Manages the promotion of programs through email campaigns and social media

  • Liaises with Marketing on print brochures and ad design

  • Assists with outreach to potential feeder high school or third-party college counselors

  • Attends select Summer Programs Fairs

  • Liaises with Office of International Services to secure visas for international students

  • Assists with coordinating and welcoming international students on arrivals and assists with coordinating departures

  • Assists with structuring and delivering a communication strategy designed to retain

  • parent and student engagement with the program post-acceptance, before arrival and

  • during the program (parents)

  • Assists with post-Summer communication with students and parents

  • Coordinates orientations and class trips

  • Supervises student workers

  • Liaises and coordinates with Residential Life on program support

Management ResponsibilitiesÂÂ

Guides work of other employees who perform essentially the same work and/or student workers. Organizes, sets priorities, schedules and reviews work, but is generally not responsible for final decisions in hiring, performance management or compensation.



Required Qualifications: Education and ExperienceÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 2+ years related experience in college or high school program planning (Admissions, Residential Life, Alumni Relations)




Required Qualifications: Knowledge and SkillsÂÂÂÂÂ

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail essential

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, capacity to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and ability to perform non-routine work required

  • Helpful and friendly attitude

  • Ability to work mid-May to early August, including weekends, nights, and holidays as needed

  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.




Preferred QualificationsÂ

  • Master’s Degree




Minimum Starting Salary: $62,400



Maximum Starting Salary: $75,000



Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
