The Medical College of Georgia Department of Surgery at Augusta University is seeking a full-time Vascular Surgeon to join our faculty at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The division is part of an academic general surgery program which includes a general surgery residency, clinical research program and a busy clinical practice at AU Health. AU Health is a tertiary care level 1 Trauma Center with a large multi-specialty practice. The practice has a fully integrated vascular lab and access to a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room and Cath Labs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care, education and research in the field of Vascular Surgery.
  • Provide clinical and call coverage as outlined by the Section Chief.
  • As a Clinician-Educator, train students and residents.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical records relating to patients treated to the extent required by applicable state and federal laws.
  • Produce the appropriate number of RVU's for specialty and work effort.
  • Participate in the educational programs of the Department, which includes teaching, service, training, preceptorship, mentoring, etc. The division is part of an academic surgery department which includes a general surgery residency, clinical research program and a busy clinical practice at AU Health.


Required Qualifications

MD/DO degree; Qualified candidates should be board-certified in Vascular surgery with a minimum of 1-5 years of experience.



Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
  • Candidates must be board-certified in vascular surgery, and should have at least five years of clinical experience.


Shift/Salary/Benefits



This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or part-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
