Job Description
The Transcript Analyst II, under general supervision, evaluates transcripts from Colleges, Universities, and military work for transferability and makes decisions on resident status and other admissions issues.
Responsibilities:
- Keep informed of best practices related to the transfer of credit in higher education.
- Analyze, authenticate, and research documents submitted for evaluation of transfer credit or advance standing credit for prior learning.
- Evaluate documents submitted to determine course applicability and/or equivalency in collaboration with academic departments and established Prairie View A&M University policies.
- Properly record transfer credits or non-course work in the Banner student information system and degree audit system.
- Update student record in Degree Works after processing transfer credit articulation.
- Communicate with transfer students and other student types regarding their credit review and applicable transfer articulation.
- Provide professional customer service and facilitate student inquiries to appropriate departments.
- Assist in preparing transfer articulation reports via Argos and Degree Works.
- Assist in reviewing university related web tools and other software used in transcript analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in an applicable field.
- Four years or related experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Ellucian systems to include Banner 9, Degree Works, and Argos reporting.
- Knowledge of College Sources Transfer Evaluation Systems (TES).
- Ability to communicate professionally to faculty and advisor in regards to maintaining transfer equivalencies in TES, Degree Works, and Banner.
