General Services Mailroom/Duplication/Receiving Assistant

Classification: Support Staff - Full-time
Reports to: Business Manager for General Services
Description: Assist daily in three areas of General Services, including the Mailroom, Copying and Duplication and also the Receiving Department. A strong ability to multi-task and staying adaptable in all aspects of the job duties listed below are needed.
Responsibilities:
I. Mail Room:
Sort incoming and intercampus mail
Process standard and first class mailings
Knowledge of the bulk mail process and address printer
Able to use the software that is needed for printing addresses on mail piece
Know how to import and export data to the address printer
Set up and operate the various machines in the mailroom
Work with various daily/monthly forms
Forward student mail returned from Resident Halls
Assist Mailroom Manager with projects as needed
II. Duplication:
Retrieve duplication orders from email/duplication folder
Print duplication orders directly from the computer or shared folders
Operate high speed copiers
Be able to finish banners including trimming, and grommets
Be able to do all aspects of print finishing which includes operation of equipment to: fold, insert, crease, bind, laminate and cut
Review and execute duplication jobs
Assist Duplication with projects as needed
III. Receiving:
Assist Receiving Department with processing daily packages
Sign, sort, track and process packages
Assist Receiving with delivering packages as needed
Qualifications:
Technology Skill:
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Use Outlook for email
Knowledge of Postal software a plus
Background in production copiers and finishing equipment preferable
Understand use of shared files
Education:
High school diploma required
Physical Demands:
Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to handle common printing and cleaning chemicals used in the maintenance and replenishment of supplies for equipment used for the production of mail and duplication.
Other:
Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the University's insurance
