Part-Time/Adjunct - Community College Counselor of Students with Disabilities
San Jose-Evergreen Community College District is seeking a Part-time/Adjunct Community College Counselor of Students with Disabilities at San Jose City College campus in the department of Student Accessibility Services (SAS).
Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications for Community College Counselor of Students with Disabilities:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1.) A Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling; OR
2.) A Master's degree in: Counseling; Guidance Counseling; Student Personnel; Clinical or Counseling Psychology; Education Counseling; Social Work; Career Development; Marriage and Family Therapy; or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling; OR a Bachelor's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling AND possession of a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT);
AND
A.) Fifteen (15) or more semester units in upper division or graduate level coursework related to people with disabilities; or
B.) Completion of six (6) semester units, or the equivalent, of a graduate-level counseling practicum or counseling field work courses, in a post-secondary Disabled Students Programs and Services program or in a program dealing with people with disabilities; or
C.) Two (2) years of full-time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following:
1. Counseling for students with disabilities; or
2. Counseling in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities are for persons with disabilities, or the equivalent.

2. Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, gender identity, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the students we serve and sensitivity to and knowledge and understanding of groups historically underrepresented, and groups who may have experienced discrimination.
3. Success integrating diversity as appropriate into the major duties outlined in the job description and in the duties listed in the District's hiring policy; or demonstrated equivalent transferable skills to do so.
Salary placement is based on candidate's verified education and experience.
