Job Summary
The Faculty Compensation Analyst is responsible for assisting the Director Classification/Compensation with the analysis, implementation, and administration of faculty compensation programs, policies, and procedures. This position ensures that faculty salaries are competitive, equitable, and aligned with institutional goals and regulatory compliance. The analyst collaborates with academic leadership, Faculty Support Services, finance, and other stakeholders to develop data-driven insights and recommendations on faculty compensation matters.
Responsibilities
Assists with comprehensive analyses of faculty compensation, including salary benchmarking, pay equity studies, and market trend evaluations.
Supports the administration of faculty salary increases, merit-based pay, promotions, and other compensation adjustments.
Collaborates with Faculty Support Services and academic leadership to ensure compliance with university policies, accrediting bodies, and federal and state regulations.
Maintains faculty position data and ensures data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Researches and applies best practices in faculty compensation, making recommendations for improvements and innovations.
Supports faculty hiring, retention, and engagement efforts through compensation analysis and strategic recommendations.
Provides data-driven recommendations to enhance faculty compensation structures and address equity concerns.
Assists in preparing reports and presentations for senior leadership, faculty committees, and governing boards.
Partners with finance and budget teams to assess financial impact and budget implications of compensation programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Minimum of three years of experience in compensation analysis, HR analytics, financial analysis, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree. Experience in higher education is strongly preferred. Experience in faculty compensation or academic HR functions. Certification in Compensation (e.g., CCP, Certified Compensation Professional) or HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of compensation structures, job evaluations, and faculty pay practices.
Understanding of federal and state employment regulations affecting faculty compensation (e.g., FLSA, equal pay laws).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and meaningful manner.
SKILLS
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, HR professionals, and senior leadership.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with HRIS, compensation, or financial management systems.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: B11
Salary Minimum: $56,600/00/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
