Job Summary

This position maintains enrolled learner records, manage communication with parents in person, and via email, schedule learners for instruction sessions at the center, and maintain learner waitlist. Responsible for the smooth running of daily instruction sessions at the center.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

ONE-ON-ONE INSTRUCTION: Oversee 50-minute one-on-one instructional sessions with school-aged clients to teach literacy concepts, catering to various grade levels. Administer initial assessments, spelling inventories, and other evaluations. Make decisions on how to place each learner into Center curriculums.

PARENT/CAREGIVER COMMUNICATION: Regularly handle communication with parents/caregivers about their enrolled or waitlisted child(ren). Reach out to parents/caregivers regarding initial weekly session scheduling, scheduling changes, and absences. Provide recommendations and materials for support and homework when requested.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: Effectively provide flexible scheduling for instructors, volunteers, and learners to provide the most Instruction sessions possible. Ensure parents/caregivers of enrolled learners have all supporting documentation completed. (Center forms, learner IEPs/504 plans, etc.) Ensure the Learning Center is clean, tidy, and organized each day.

TRAINING, SUPPORT, AND CERTIFICATION: Maintain employee training certifications, including Words Their Way and Mandated Reporter training, to ensure compliance with Center requirements. Onboard, train, guide, and support new Instructors and volunteers in best practices and problem-solving during sessions.

PROFESSIONALISM: Maintain a high level of professionalism in interactions with clients, their families, and fellow staff members. Uphold the Center's standards and policies in all interactions and activities.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization.



Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of one year experience performing secretarial/clerical assistant duties in a professional office setting.

Customer service experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in Microsoft Word software.

SKILLS

Excellent oral and written communication skills, empathy, flexibility, adaptability.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Attention to detail, accuracy, good judgment, and public relations.
