Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates and manages the scheduling of meeting rooms, event spaces, and other shared resources within the building
2. Coordinates with Environmental Health and Safety EHS) to develop, enforce, and maintain appropriate safety protocols in laboratories and core facilities
3. Communicates scheduling updates and changes to relevant stakeholders promptly
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Certification in lab safety (Certified Chemical Hygiene Officer or Associate Safety Professional or
equivalent)
Certification in Facilities Management (CFM) or related credentials
Certification in Lab Management from an accredited organization (ASTM, ALMA, or equivalent)
Familiarity with local building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols
Experience with budgeting and financial management
Job Summary
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and overseeing facilities and services in the assigned buildings, office, college, division, and departments. Services include the oversight of projects, operations and maintenance. Serves as a resource for faculty, staff, and students to support class, lab and research needs. Also, ensures the physical resources needed are available to support the university, college and department strategic plans when it comes to teaching, research and service. Acts as the liaison with other university units to ensure progress towards campus planning goals.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as the point of contact for all facilities related needs, issues and/or concerns in the college
2. Researches, defines, and approves items to submit for purchase approval for operations and projects to ensure best value is obtained
3. Oversees procedural processing of financial transactions and ensures resources are utilized per college and university policies
4. Monitors and approves assigned area spending to ensure compliance with State, Federal, BOR, and generally accepted accounting principles and University procedures
5. Assists in the preparation of budgets, funding amendments, and preparation of necessary supporting documentation
6. Provides management with periodic review of financial status and progress in assigned projects and activities
7. Responsible for developing and administering policies and procedures, budgetary decision-making, extensive scope and impact of decisions on assigned projects
8. Oversees and manages assigned staff and workload, maintains performance management and manages time and attendance
9. Provides basic engineering consultation and support services to college faculty and administration on projects and ideas
10. Provides preliminary drawings or specifications for building modifications to Facilities Department in coordination with lab staff
11. Provides project management for special projects
12. Researches and recommends potential new and replacement equipment and improvements to operations
13. Works with college faculty, staff, and Administration to continually improve lab spaces to meet changing curriculum and hands-on project requirements
14. Works closely with the leaders of assigned area(s) in developing an overall strategy
15. Ensures contractors are performing tasks safely and as outlined in the contract
16. Works with leadership to develop best use cases for building spaces
17. Ensures the proper maintenance and operation of all equipment in coordination with staff
18. Performs advanced diagnostics on complex computer-controlled equipment
19. Provides oversight to ensure the safe operation of all labs and equipment
20. Provides oversight to ensure all students and faculty are trained on applicable equipment and abide by all relevant safety and operation guidelines
21. Collaborates with other units, when necessary, for approved projects and tasks
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in from an accredited institution of higher education
Required Experience
Five (5) years of related work experience, including previous supervisory experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Position may require some specialized skill set, training, licensure or certification
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Proposed Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $57,300. Offers are based on relevant experience.

ABILITIES
Able to serve on the Dean's college council representing facilities
Able to serves as the college's representative on the University Safety Committee operations, and 3D printing technologies
Able to read, understand, and prepare construction drawings and specifications
Able to perform or supervise maintenance and repairs on highly technical equipment
Able to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of modern fabrication methods for Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) equipment, woodworking joinery and fabrication techniques, model building, laser cutting
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
