Working under the direction of the HVAC Preventive Maintenance Lead, you will perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and contribute to the overall efficiency of campus facilities. Summary of Responsibilities

Performs preventive and scheduled maintenance for HVAC equipment. This will include belt changing and adjusting, motor grease, alignment and change out, and filter replacement.
Repairs, cleans, lubricates and checks general operation of HVAC equipment including air handlers, refrigerated air systems exhaust fans, pumps, and direct and indirect evaporative cooling systems.
Performs coil repair and cleaning.
Performs maintenance on rooftop evaporative cooling checking pads, motors, and floats. Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience OR a combination of education and experience equal to two years. Technical or vocational degree in appropriate mechanical trade area may be substituted for experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with preventive and scheduled maintenance service. Two years of experience in the HVAC field or related experience.

Licenses/Certifications
EPA Refrigerant Certified, RMGA Certified.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

Knowledge of the operation and function of HVAC equipment in a large, multiple building setting.
Knowledge of the required maintenance needed for fan coils, double ducts, roof-top units, and evaporative cooling).
Knowledge of maintenance repairs and inventory of various tools and equipment.
Knowledge of the safe maintenance procedures needed for repair and maintenance of equipment.
Knowledge of HVAC fundamentals such as air flow, water flow and balance.
Knowledge of motor alignment, belt tension and bearing problems.
Knowledge of recent developments in the HVAC field.

Skills

Skill in troubleshooting and resolving problems with HVAC equipment.
Skill in the repair and diagnosis of air and water moving equipment.
Skill in using various tools in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.

Abilities

Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
Ability to work safely in an environment with electrical equipment.
Ability to perform scheduled and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems.
Ability to read and interpret HVAC technical manuals, schematics and building plans.
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
