Degree Pathway Specialist - PKH

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Degree Pathway Specialist will be critical in supporting the onboarding and success of new non-traditional students enrolled in PKH-powered programs. This position will provide comprehensive transcript evaluation and academic advising to adult learners, helping them develop academic plans, select courses, and prepare for handoff to the PKH coaching team to access resources that promote retention and success. This role requires a deep understanding of the unique needs of adult learners and the ability to provide personalized, proactive support in a fully online environment.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. 2-3 years of admissions, transcript evaluation, academic advising experience and working with adult learners. Previous experience in admissions, transfer and/or advising services within a higher education institution is highly desirable. Knowledge of academic advising processes and university policies on transfer credit evaluation. Familiarity with data management and reporting tools.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Provide personalized academic advising to adult learners including guidance on degree requirements, course selection, and academic planning.
  • Develop individualized academic plans that align with program requirements.
  • Assist with transcript evaluations.
  • Assist students with registration including adding/dropping courses and course prerequisites.
  • Collaborate with faculty and PKH representatives to address academic issues and provide comprehensivesupport.
  • Advocate for adult learners' needs within the institution, helping to shape policies and practices that enhance their educational experience.
  • Contribute to the development of advising resources and materials, including online tutorials, guides, standard operating procedures, and FAQs.
