Position Description
Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Engage with new TTU faculty in identifying and utilizing grant-seeking tools with a focus early on career opportunities.
  • Guide researchers to resources within and beyond the Office of Research & Innovation.
  • Maintain knowledge of TTU faculty research interests and interdisciplinary expertise.
  • Review sponsor websites and RFPs, assessing fit with faculty research projects.
  • Coordinate and support grantsmanship workshops and research development events, being willing to suggest and coordinate networking/teaming activities for faculty.
  • Conduct SCAN (Swift Critique, Appraisal, & Notation) sessions to identify opportunities to strengthen grant applications and provide guidance to grant teams in implementing solutions for both new and re-submissions.
  • Provide project management, RD expertise to faculty teams from inception to submission for large, complex proposals.
  • Contribute to RD planning, team learning, communication, and reporting.
  • Assist with activities and special projects as requested by the Director.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree. Experience in research development, grant proposal writing, and/or research administration.
