Job Summary
Responsible for the administration and daily oversight for post-award activities for an assigned sponsored programs portfolio. Responsible for ensuring compliance based on KSU policy, sponsor guidelines, and state and federal regulations and identifying deviations as well as account management problems. Reviews all transactions for allowability and compliance with the proposed budget, applicable regulations, and policy and coordinates any resulting rebudgets needs. Builds and maintains partnering relationships with internal stakeholders and other operational departments while acting as a liaison with sponsors.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manages and assists faculty with the budget, reporting and compliance through the lifecycle of sponsored program
2. Advises on applicable policies and procedures for grant related travel, human resources, procurement and compliance
3. Approves procurement, travel reimbursement and GRA hiring requests
4. Ensures adherence to quality standards and all policies and award regulations
5. Serves as primary intermediary with all pertinent faculty, staff and campus entities
6. Advise on allowable expenditures per award terms and conditions
7. Reconciles grants and monitors rate of expenditures
8. Provides timely budget reports and assists with rebudgets
9. Obtains prior approval from sponsor when necessary
10. Coordinates with faculty and Grants Accounting to submit sponsor required reporting
11. Interacts regularly with and provides high quality customer service to faculty members conducting sponsored research
12. May aid in sponsored program award intake and management of project end dates
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Required Experience
Two (2) years of related work experience in the management and/or administration of externally sponsored activity within a university, non-profit, or academic medical center setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Preferred Experience
Experience with applying and interpreting Unifor Guidance 2 CFR 200, federal agency specific regulations, and non-federal sponsor guidelines
Experience with grant management software (Cayuse, InfoEd, HRS, Kuwali, etc.) a plus
Proposed Salary

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of federal grant proposal and award policies and regulations
Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies and/procedures that govern major federal and non-federal sponsors
Understanding of research administration roles and responsibilities for internal and external resources
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
