Job Summary
Develops and executes human resources (HR) practices to support and improve the daily operations of the Human Resources Department and supports academic and administrative units. Works in partnership with HR functional teams to provide a high level of service delivering strategic business goals. Handles employee relations, management coaching, data reporting and analysis, policy implementation and other HR-related activities ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Partners with HRBP and assigned business unit(s) or specialty groups to identify, develop and promote programs that meet strategic business objectives
2. Functions as a business advisor to the employees of his/her assigned business units regarding key organizational and management issues including employee relations
3. Supports the full-cycle recruiting process by assisting with identification of business unit's staffing needs to on-boarding of new hires; effectively uses performance-based recruitment tools
4. Collaborates with HR Coordinators to ensure smooth and efficient onboarding and offboarding experiences for new hires and exiting employees
5. Collaborate with HR functional teams to push strategic initiatives throughout the organization
6. Identifies supervisory and line manager coaching and training needs and directly delivers appropriate coaching solutions or works with HRBP, Training and Development to secure internal or external training resources where possible
7. Partners with Compensation team to ensure entity positions are graded and leveled appropriately
8. Ensures all documentation is in place and the job evaluation packet is complete and makes initial recommendations
9. Utilizes Project Management methodologies to lead or support HR projects within business units
10. Enables high performing teams to succeed through application of organizational development resources and tools including performance management tools
11. Provides insight, tactical leadership and communication support during organizational change
12. Uses HR technology to present strategic decision-making data to management
13. Address, make recommendations and resolve tier one employee relations issues, including interpersonal conflicts, basic investigations, and termination requests by using judgement that is consistent with University and USG standards, practices, policies and procedures and related state and federal laws
14. Oversees the conflict resolution process by assisting employees and managers in settling work related conflicts and provide guidance and support in accordance with policies and procedures
15. Interprets policies and procedures to employees and managers, guides staff in accordance with University and USG policies
16. Provides front line customer service to employees and managers as needed
17. Support the performance management process by assisting with goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
18. Assists with the facilitation and management of New Employee Orientation (NEO)
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Human Resources, Business, or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in Human Resources or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Preferred Experience
Experience in a higher education setting
Other Preferred Qualifications
PHR, SHRM-CP or equivalent certification
Proposed Salary
The budgeted salary range is $60,920 to $68,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.
