Energy and Sustainability Area

SMU's Cox School of Business invites applications for non-tenure track full-time position # 54058 in the Energy and Sustainability area in the Finance Department. Faculty will be associated with Maguire Energy Institute and are expected to participate in the Institute's programs and initiatives, participate in university service and to deliver high-quality instruction in Energy and Sustainability courses across the Cox School's undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, which include online teaching. The position will begin in Fall 2025.

The Cox School is a nationally ranked business school located in Dallas, Texas, a premier business center in the U.S. The School offers a collegial working environment, generous faculty support and outstanding facilities. The Maguire Energy Institute addresses the world's energy challenges through thought leadership, fostering innovation and advancing education and research. The Finance Department has well-respected research faculty, who actively publish in top academic journals, participate in national and international conferences, collaborate with scholars across the globe, and inform policy debates on topics such as market design and corporate governance. The Department has no less than four Altshuler Distinguished Teaching Professors, the University's highest honor for teaching. Further, the Department has excellent relations with the corporate and business community, providing a unique and exciting environment for both teaching and research.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications: Graduate degrees in Finance, or a related field such as Economics and Accounting; with interest in teaching Energy and Sustainability courses at a university level.

Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in Finance, Accounting or Economics; established record of high-quality teaching at a university level in Energy and Sustainability area; in-person and online teaching experience; demonstrated contributions to the field or industry.
