The faculty of the College of Arts and Humanities at California State University Dominguez Hills invites applications for a Tenure Track; Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Music department

Responsibilities
Responsibilities involve teaching various core music courses, teaching popular music performance courses and directing ensembles, and developing new curriculum in the areas of commercial music and music industry studies. Additional duties include making connections and creating relationships with individuals, organizations, and companies in the music industry including: artist management firms, publishing houses, entertainment lawyers, record labels, studios, television and film music departments, producers, artistic directors, foundations, and performing artists. Other responsibilities include: student advising, creative/scholarly activity, and service on various committees.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in music
Outstanding instrumentalist or songwriter
College or university-level teaching experience
Experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to teach commercial music performance, songwriting, and production
Experience teaching music industry studies and/or working in music industry
Candidates will have an exceptional reputation in their field and ability to provide forward thinking leadership
Experience working with a diverse student body
A track record of developing curricula in the emerging academic field of commercial music performance and production
Background in placing music students in internships within the music and entertainment industry
Knowledge and experience in creating successful music publicity campaigns (traditional and social media)
Doctorate preferred
